Igbo Despite Everything Underestimated In Nigeria - Gowon Says As He Backs Rebuilding

Previous Head of State, General Yakubu Gowon (retd) has said that the Igbos have been minimized in Nigeria's country......
He proceeded to peddle for the rebuilding of the nation in order to incorporate Igbos into the nation.

The previous head of state, who finished the Nigerian common war with the motto "No Victor, No Vanquished", talked at the discussion for national solidarity with the topic: " Federal Character, Restructuring and Rotation of Presidential Power in Nigeria" sorted out by Igbo Leadership Development Foundation in Abuja.

He accentuated that the Igbo country despite everything remains minimized 50 years after the common war.

Gowon, who was spoken to by a previous Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Dr. Obadiah Mailafia, claimed for critical strides to be taken to enhance the agonies of the Igbo individuals.

He included that Nigeria has the stuff to cook sufficiently for all Nigerians regardless of clan or statement of faith.

He further solicited for the assembly of an established discussion on rebuilding to attempt an all encompassing amendment of the perceptible irregular characteristics that had held Nigeria down throughout the years with the end goal of gaining ground and advancing national solidarity and attachment.

He stated: "I accept that a ton of bad form has been done to the Igbo and a sacred discussion on rebuilding must address all awkward nature and reestablish expectation and certainty.

"Nigeria is large enough for us all and I accept that the Ndigbo, Middle belt and the Yoruba are the genuine Nigerians in such a case that you look round our fringes, individuals originated from abroad are as yet coming yet Ndigbo's have consistently been there, center belt have consistently been there, even Yoruba have consistently been there.

"Individuals who came in yesterday who have an obligation of regard are presently the ones talking. Going ahead, we should make a government majority rules system that will react decidedly to all the desires of our kin not about East-West yet about cooperating in correspondence, acquiring the young people and the ladies to fabricate another Nigeria."

Gowon focused on that Nigeria stays inadequate without Ndigbo, adding that the country expected to appropriately tackle the knowledge, inventiveness and difficult work of the Ndigbo for national development and advancement.

He further said God didn't commit an error by making the Igbo individuals part of Nigeria and he called for equity, value and reasonable play in the act of Nigeria's majority rule government.

He clarified that while rebuilding was basic to national progression, it must be done in an environment of resilience and love for one other.
