A 31-year-old gourmet specialist, Innocent Etim, who was summoned under the steady gaze of the FCT High Court, Nyanya for supposedly assaulting a 13-year-old young lady, told the court on Tuesday, February 11, that the supposed unfortunate casualty is currently hitched to him.....
Etim was docked on a two-check charge, verging on assault, yet denied submitting the offense.
Etim who affirmed as an observer with all due respect, told the court that the young lady he was blamed for contaminating has brought forth his kid.
"I have met all the marriage customs as required by the convention to wed the young lady. She conveyed a child kid on Oct. 18, 2019 and we had the congregation commitment as well.
I didn't contact her on Feb. 13, 2018. It was her birthday and I requested that her come and gather a cake. She came and I gave her the cake," he said.
After his declaration, his guidance Mr Dickson Umoru, told the court that the barrier was shutting its case.
Continuation of this, the judge, Justice Peter Kekemeke dismissed the issue until April 6 for reception of composed locations.
The indictment counsel, Mr Samuel Offiah, asserted that the litigant submitted the offense on Feb. 13, 2018, at Suaka zone of Abuja. He told the court that the litigant contaminated the young lady, who was multi year-old at that point.
Offiah said the offense negated the arrangements of segments 1 and 5 (1) of the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015.
