EFCC Staff Imprisoned For Taking Displays

A previous staff of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Hussaini Abubakar has been given a one year prison sentence in the wake of being seen as liable of taking shows......
Abubakar was summoned by the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the EFCC on a three-tally charge verging on taking.

One of the charges against him peruses;

"That you, Hussaina Abubakar, in 2017 at Port Harcourt in the Port Harcourt Judicial Division did deceitfully take a show from the Forensic Section of EFCC, a display which you knew was recouped over the span of examination indeed: One Lenevo S60-A (daul sim) with sequential number: HBOGOHAQ with IME opening number: 1-866059026043140, worth N18,000, having a place with one Chuku Nelson Nyegam and along these lines submitted an offense."

The convict confessed to the charges as his guard counsel, M. M Suleiman begged the court to temper equity with benevolence. He prefaced his petition on grounds of Abubakar being a first time guilty party with no past conviction record, a vagrant, a wedded man, a dad of a 15-months-old child and a provider for his family.

Equity S.C Amadi of the Rivers State High Court anyway condemned Abubakar to one year detainment with N150,000 alternative of fine.
